Welcome to The Senior Center Magazine

We are thrilled and delighted to introduce The Senior Center! Magazine to Richardson, Plano and Frisco, Texas. In each issue, we look forward to bringing you the best our area has to offer, including: senior discounts, restaurant spotlights, entertainment and activity recommendations, real-life adventures written by you — our community’s seniors —  and much more!

Since I’ll be asking for your stories, here is mine: I was inspired to start this magazine because of the joy that my grandparents, Harry and Rita Vento have brought to my life and the seniors that I have worked with for the past five years at a retirement community in Plano. Over the years, I have been helping them seek out information that would be beneficial to their lives, and then, I had a realization. I couldn’t find a magazine that talks about how life gets better as we age. It was then, that we started toying with the idea of The Senior Center! Magazine.  We want this magazine to be refreshing, positive and serve today’s seniors’ needs. We hope this magazine is not only a great source of information, but a way for you to stay informed about our ever-growing community.

One of the things that we are so proud of is that The Senior Center! Magazine has partnered with the Collin County Committee on Aging and its Meals on Wheels program.  As part of our community outreach, we are donating part of the proceeds from each advertiser toward the cost of meals for the Meals on Wheels program. So, if you like our advertisers, please, let people know!

The Senior Center! Magazine will be published in May and November. Your free copy will be available at your local senior center, retirement communities and at all participating retail locations. Also, we would be glad to mail you a copy.

We’d love to hear from you, whether it’s your story, a letter to the magazine or article recommendations, so let yourself be heard! Please mail a photograph with a return address or email us a digital photo with your stories.
