The National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade is a favorite springtime event, especially this year on the 100th anniversary of Japan’s gifts of the cherry trees. Get acquainted with your fellow passengers as we make our way to Memphis. The next day take a journey through 150 years of Tennessee history, as we tour and have a delicious lunch at Rippavilla Plantation. Relive Civil War happenings before going to our overnight stop.

Day 3 – Appalachians
Our drive today is alongside the beautiful Appalachian Mountains – rolling hills, lush farms and timbered mountains. (B,D) Overnight: Charlottesville, VA
Days 4,5 & 6 – Monticello/ Arlington National Cemetery/ Washington Monuments & Parade
We start the day with a visit to Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello, often regarded as an icon of American architecture. Excitement builds as we near Washington, DC, stopping to honor our war heroes at Arlington National Cemetery. A tour guide will introduce us to the major monuments and memorials - the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, WW II Memorial, Korean War Veterans Memorial and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Dinner and entertainment will be furnished afterward. It’s Parade Day! From grandstand seats, we'll enjoy the decorated floats, helium balloons, talented marching bands and various performers- all in one spectacular show. When the Japanese sent 3,750 cherry trees to us in 1912, who would have thought we would send clippings from these same trees back to them after the massive destruction caused by the recent earthquake. after the parade, you may want to spend leisure time at the Smithsonian Institute. Day 7 – Mount Vernon/ Old Blandford Church
Another walk through history is at Mount Vernon, where George and Martha Washington lived for 40 years. Food vouchers will be included for lunch at your leisure. The Old Blandford Church in Petersburg is the next highlight. Built in 1735, its stunning Tiffany windows were added in 1901, making this shrine one of the art treasures of our country. Days 8 & 9 – Civil War Sites/ Natural Bridge
In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we pass through the well-known sites of Appomattox and Lynchburg where the bloody Civil War was brought to an end. Next, marvel at the Natural Bridge, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Leaving Virginia, our destination is Franklin with its beautiful 15-block downtown district featuring century-old buildings restored with breathtaking architecture and beautiful brick-lined sidewalks. Day 10 – Natchez Trace Parkway
We’ll travel on part of the scenic Natchez Trace Parkway through the Tennessee foothills. Kept in its “natural” condition, the Parkway forms a continuous greenway through several states. Tonight we gather for our farewell dinner.

The countdown to Titanic mania begins in anticipation of the 100-year anniversary of the great ship’s beginning and ending. On April 10, 1912 the RMS Titanic launched her maiden voyage from England and by April 15 she was gone, taking with her more than 1,500 passengers and crew. This special trip to one of our favorite destinations, Branson, focuses on the magnificent ship and its passengers. All aboard for a voyage you won’t soon forget!
DAY 1- Dinner at the Chateau on the Lake
Get the first class cabin treatment when you enter your hotel room. Titanic trivia and a titanic robe that is yours to keep will be waiting for you there. Tennessee has it all – spectacular scenery, fabulous entertainment and intriguing history and we’ll see some of each this week. The hotel in Memphis offers hot and cold snacks that you can use for a light dinner. In Nashville a real treat is in store for us – a tour of the former home of super-star Barbara Mandrell, Fontanel Mansion.
